ClaroRead for Mac
1. Monkeybread Software plug-in errors occur when running ClaroRead for Mac.
This happens when you install the latest version over an old version. Please delete the Claroread application and re-run the latest installer.
2. ClaroRead stops speaking after selecting with the mouse and clicking the Play button.
This is a bug with an older version of ClaroRead - please contact us for a link to the latest version of ClaroRead.
3. Keyboard echo, speak on hover in Safari, prediction completion using F keys or F-key shortcuts are not working.
For the above features to work, you must have some system settings configured. Here's a link to the ClaroRead for Mac help file Technical Support page which details these settings.
4. All or some of the voices which begin with "Claro" don't work
This usually means some of the voice files have been deleted somewhere, run the Claro voice remover program to remove the trouble voices and the reinstall ClaroRead (and voices) from disk.
5. A "NilObjectException" or XML error occurs.
Resetting the program's setting will fix this. To do this:
- Download, unzip and run the Mac Restore Settings program
- Select the program from the programs list and click on the "Restore Settings" button
- Confirm that you wish to restore the settings
6. Readiris doesn't see your scanner
- Verify the contents of this folder: HD => Library => Image Capture => Twain data source => *.ds. If you see your scanner model .ds, you can go to step 2. If there is no driver for your scanner, you will have to install it.
- Verify the driver architecture.
- Go to the Applications folder and launch Image Capture
- In the menu bar at the top go to Devices > Browse Devices
- Select your scanner model
- If your scanner model is on PowerPC architecture, you will have to open Readiris using Rosetta
- Go to the Applications folder > Readiris folder
- Right click on your Readiris Pro 11 application and select "Get Info"
- Tick the "Open With Rosetta" check box
- Close this window and launch Readiris
- If you are still having problems, please contact Readiris support: support@irislink.com.
